Expert Iron Castings

Cast Gray Iron is the oldest and most recognizable type of cast iron produced in a variety of forms for thousands of years, and composed of graphite flakes, either ferrite, pearlite or a combination of the two.

The metallurgy of Cast Gray Iron can be adjusted to make the end product harder or softer to suit your specific application. In addition alloy additions and secondary processes such as annealing or heat-treating can affect the physical properties of the Gray Iron Casting.

Sioux City Foundry has been casting iron for 140 years and we continue to supply gray iron, ductile iron, austempered ductile iron and ni-hard castings to our customers in the industrial, engineering, decorative, architectural, government and artistic sectors.
