Quality Cast Iron Casting
Cast iron is produced in a variety of forms and composed of graphite flakes, either ferrite, pearlite, or a combination of the two. Cast iron casting is the oldest and most recognized form of metal casting.
The metallurgy of Cast Iron Casting can be adjusted to make the material harder or softer. Alloy additions and secondary processes, such as annealing or heat-treating, can affect the physical properties of the casting. This allows us to tailor our products to suit your specific application.
Sioux City Foundry has been casting iron for over 140 years, and we continue to supply gray, ductile, austempered ductile and ni-hard cast iron castings to our customers in the industrial, engineering, decorative, architectural, government and artistic sectors.
Our experienced and knowledgeable staff, along with our modern production methods, including our own in-house metallurgical testing, heat-treat capabilities, and new furnaces installed in 2009, increase production efficiency, quality, and allow us to continue to provide quality cast iron casting products at competitive prices.
We have the capability to pour custom castings from a few ounces to 3,000 pounds. We produce various mold sizes with green sand molding processes, utilizing Hunters, Squeezer, and Rota-Lift systems, as well as the Flaskless no-bake molding system.
